Land Rover engines from Discovery 3 to Defender 2

All diesel engines installed in the Discovery 3/4 were developed by Ford and bear the engine designation “Lion” or AJD V6 or PSA DT.

The engines are used in the Land Rover and Jaguar vehicles as well as in the partner brands of PSA such as Peugeot and Citroën. Below I will discuss the Ingenium engines developed by Land Rover Jaguar and used in Discovery 5 and Defender 2.

Other engines for Defender 2, Discovery 5, Discovery Sport, Range Rover Sport

The engines in the Ingenium series were developed by Jaguar Land-Rover and have been produced in England since 2015. The name indicates the type of fuel (P = Petrol or D = Diesel), the three-digit number after the fuel abbreviation indicates the maximum power of the drive in HP. Initially, only the four-cylinder engines were offered in Defender 2 with market launch. In mid-2020 it was announced that only the 6-cylinder engines would be used in the future – of course with a big upgrade for those who had ordered a brand new Defender and had just been delivered with four cylinders.
