To recover a Discovery 4, the front or rear towing lug must first be exposed. The eyelets are located behind a plastic cover that can be opened by turning it 90\u00b0 with a slotted screwdriver. In addition, there are special points on the ladder frame side rails for towing hooks, see photos.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n

According to Land Rover, the Discovery may only be towed in a forward direction with all 4 wheels on the ground. Towing in reverse with two wheels on the ground may cause transmission damage. In addition, towing is only permitted for short distances (max. 50km) and at a maximum speed of 50km\/h.\r\n

To be able to tow the Land Rover at all, the automatic transmission must first be set to “N”. If the engine cannot be started, this can be done by an emergency release in the center console.<\/p>\r\n<\/figure>\r\n<\/figure>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n

First remove the cup holder by pulling on the right and left side and find a red loop. Behind the red loop you will find a slotted screw, which you have to turn 90\u00b0.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n
